How we work
What working with us looks like, from the first conversation to completion and beyond. No surprises about who's advising you, what happens next, or when.
Through the Book a call form, by email or by phone. We reply within one working day.
With the senior adviser who would advise on your deal. We listen, ask questions and give you a view of the main issues.
If it makes sense to work together, we confirm what we'll do, what we need and the timetable, in writing, before work starts.
Structuring, clearances, due diligence and deal terms, alongside your other advisers and to your deal timetable.
We make sure elections, claims and the tax terms of the sale agreement are in place.
Paying the tax correctly, claiming reliefs on time, deferred payments, and planning for the proceeds.
Deals involve sensitive information: who's buying, the price, the timetable and your personal finances. Everything you share with us is treated as confidential and used only to advise you. See our privacy policy for how we handle personal data.
FAQs
You tell us briefly about the deal, through the Book a call form, by email or by phone. We reply within one working day, usually sooner, and arrange a confidential first conversation with a senior adviser.
Yes. Anything you tell us is treated as confidential and used only to advise you. Deals often involve sensitive information about buyers, prices and timing, and we treat it accordingly.
No. The first conversation is about understanding the deal and whether and how we can help. If it makes sense to work together, we then agree the scope in writing before any work starts.
A senior adviser, from the first call to completion. Our advice is led by a Chartered Tax Adviser, with a Big 4-trained team. You won't be passed to a junior team or between departments.
Before we start, we confirm the scope of the work in an engagement letter, so it's clear what we'll do, what we need from you and when. If the deal changes, we agree any change in scope with you first.
Usually the company's recent accounts and tax returns, the share structure and shareholder details, any offer or heads of terms, and a short history of past reorganisations. We'll give you a specific list after the first call.
Yes. We work alongside your corporate finance adviser, lawyers, accountant and wealth manager. We join calls, comment on documents and fit into the deal timetable rather than running a separate process.
We reply within one working day, and we plan around your deal timetable. If something is urgent, such as comments on heads of terms or a sale agreement, tell us the deadline and we'll prioritise it.
Most work happens by video call, phone and email, which suits deal timetables and clients across the UK and abroad. Ask us if an in-person meeting would help at a particular stage.
We help with the follow-through: reporting and paying the tax correctly, claiming reliefs on time, dealing with deferred payments as they arrive, and planning for the proceeds, including inheritance tax.
